And that's not even the teeniest tip of the proverbial iceberg. There are literally hundreds of wine bottle openers. Battery operated, rechargeable, the rabbit, vintage, connoisseur, level style...vertical level style. I've personally bought, been given or used at least a dozen of them (although the guillotine one won't fit in my kitchen...sad).

But the one that does the job best of all is this:

A simple corkscrew that I just discovered goes under the auspicious title of "Waiters corkscrew". It's easy to use, gets the job done, and costs less than $10 from just about any major store you can think of.
Besides, when you go wine tasting, this is what will be use, and everyone knows you can't get any cooler than that.

So true. I got my first "waiter's corkscrew" when I started working at The Olive Garden in college and many years later, nothing else works quite so well.
