Fluffy, Cuddly Appa

I challenge anyone to watch Avatar: the Last Airbender and not at some point wish they could give Appa a big squishy hug.

And if at this point you are a little confused, I am definitely not talking about this Avatar:

No, I'm talking about the amazing anime series, but the details of my love for that perfect TV show are for another post. Suffice it to say that if you think Appa is adorable on screen, imagine how cuddly he is in real life! Or as "real life" as plush is.

I bought a trio of these when they were available from Nickelodian and Amazon.... last month, that is, with some cash and many saved up swagbucks, and they have been worth every penny and random search. I see the price has gone up quite a bit since then, so I'm not sure if I swooped in at just the right time or what, but I can highly recommend these 18" and 30" plushies for Appa fans everywhere. Practically speaking, the main difference between the two sizes other than, um, size, is for some reason big Appa gets cute embroidered eyes and little Appas get regular beady stuffed animal eyes.

Somehow my son manages to get his stubby toddler arms around all three (whom he has affectionately named a gutteral "Waa"). He loves to cuddle them, arrange them, pretend to take a ride through the air on them, and that pretty much sums up what I do with them too when nobody's looking. Seriously. Appa is irresistible. Flying bison should definitely replace unicorns as the go-to awesome imaginary pet.
2 sprinkles of fairy dust:

I love Avatar and Appa does just scream HUG-ME-I'm-so-soft-furry-and loveable!
